Exploring the Catholic Faith
Herbert McCabe, OP
This is one of my favorites. A newer catechism this title offers a clear presentation of the principal teachings of the Catholic Church in a stimulating fashion, marked for its simplicity. It cuts right to the heart of what we’re about as Christians by presenting morality through the lens of the virtues we are called to cultivate for authentic human flourishing. The questions in this catechism lead to other questions…wonder is so at he heart of religious belief. Wonder rather than getting answers down pat. Wonder encourages deeper faith in the mysteries in which we believe. learn more<<

Catechism of the Catholic Church
USCC
This is an all-inclusive official universal catechism of the teachings of the Church published under Pope John Paul II in 1992. Its a great resource and a wonderful way to deepen what you may have been taught as a child. It’s goal is to help facilitate the lifelong conversion of the whole person to the Father’s call to holiness and eternal life. As a sure and authentic reference tool on Catholic doctrine and practice, this volume is invaluable. One excellent feature of this text is that it addresses the significant growth and insights in the Church and in society since the previous catechism produced by the Church in 1566. learn more<<
Why the Mass Matters
Gerard Moore
It’s easy to pass over this slim little volume on the Eucharistic Celebration which Catholics participate in each Sunday. The author intends this book to be a walk through the Mass, just as you would walk through a garden. In a garden you stop and notice each of the different flowerbeds, the various plants, delighting in color and texture. The author takes the reader in just such a spirit through the Mass, inside each of its respective parts, seeing what they ask of us, so that we may learn how to pray the Mass better. If you are bored at Mass and don’t see why it’s so important or if you love the Liturgy and want to participate more deeply, this is the book for you. learn more<<
Why Go to Confession
Bruno Forte
I’ve often spoken with people who are searching for a deeper or more mature understanding of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This tiny booklet by Archbishop Bruno Forte is a first step in that direction. The benefit of this book is that it explores the depths of your relationship with God rather than offering an approach to the 10 commandments. It’s all about relationship. It’s not about fear. It’s deeper than rules. learn more<<
The Lamb’s Supper—The Mass as Heaven
Scott Hahn
A Bestseller in all of our Centers. No better words than Fr. Groeschel’s endorsement could recommend this book: “The only thing that we ever do in this world that is real participation in the life we hope to live forever is to worship with Christ at the Liturgy…. Christ is there and mysteriously we are for that moment standing at the Eternal Supper of the Lamb. Read carefully this book, and you will learn how and why.” Scott Hahn develops here a long-lost secret of the early Church: the early Christians’ key to understanding the mysteries of the Mass was the Book of Revelation. Beautifully written in clear, direct language. learn more<<
Saints for Our Times
Barry Michaels
If you want to truly know how to live as a Catholic you need to look at the saints, men and women who for 2000 years have followed in the steps of Christ, giving to him their whole allegiance as mothers and fathers, founders of religious congregations, priests and popes, doctors, lawyers, nurses, even children. What makes this novena book unique is that it includes the biographies of 18 new saints, along with excerpts from their writings and prayers for nine days of prayer for the intercession of that saint (traditionally called a novena). Includes Mother Theresa, Padre Pio, Edith Stein, St. Faustina, and more. learn more <<
