Pauline Books & Media Children's Book Wins 2015 Christopher Award

posted on

Pauline Books & Media is honored to announce that I Forgive You: Love We Can Hear, Ask For, and Give, written by Nicole Lataif and illustrated by Katy Betz, is a 2015 Christopher Award recipient as announced by The Christophers today.

I Forgive You: Love We Can Hear, Ask For, and Give teaches children ages 4–7 a balanced, Christian view of forgiveness. Simply structured sentences and scenarios paired with whimsical illustrations show children the power of three simple words: I forgive you.

This picture book uses examples of when to forgive, along with simple explanations of what happens when forgiveness is withheld. Children are encouraged to forgive as God does— gently and with the willingness to do so again and again. Most importantly, children are shown how to forgive without compromising their safety, particularly in bullying situations. I Forgive You demonstrates to children the peace that comes with forgiveness.

A winner in the 2015 “Books for Young People” award category, I Forgive You received praise from The Christophers, for “teaching children to forgive others like God does and channel their anger in a positive way.”

The Christopher Awards, established in 1949, honor those authors, writers, illustrators, directors and producers who promote “service to God and humanity” through their works. Director of Communications, Tony Rossi says, “These individuals are motivated by a higher purpose or a higher power—and sometimes both. As a result, they are leaving their world better than they found it.”
