 About this book:

Scripture scholar Elena Bosetti leads the reader in a lectio divina on the women featured in the Old and New Testaments.  Utilizing Scripture, meditation, prayer, and questions for the reader's own life, Bosetti crafts an insightful and enlightening analysis of the compelling women mentioned throughout Scripture.

 About the author:

Elena Bosetti was born in Trento, Italy, and is a Sister of Jesus the Good Shepherd of the Pauline Family, which was founded by Blessed James Alberione.  She teaches New Testament at the Pontifical Gregorian University and the Theological Institute of Consecrated Life (Clarentianum) in Rome, as well as the Institute of Religious Studies in Modena, Italy.  She is a member of the Italian Biblical Association and of the National Coordination of Biblical Apostolate.  She collaborates in various forms of evangelization, including radio, and is the author of many popular books on Scripture.  Among those available in English is the Contemplative Reading series: Mark: The Risk of Believing; Matthew: The Journey Toward Hope; Luke: The Song of God's Mercy; and John: The Word of LIght (all published by Pauline Books & Media).

What Are People Saying about this Title?

Miles beyond other similar resources, Praying with Women of the Bible is a treasure and a revelation.  Suitable for both individual and group use, this book is a substantive guide with a clear call to discipleship."

— Amy Welborn, Author, Mary and the Christian Life

"Exceptional! Elena Bosetti gives us not just good, sound teaching, but above all, a unique, distinctive, prayerful dialogue with exemplary women of the Old and New Testament..."

— María de Lourdes Ruiz Scaperlanda, Author, The Seeker's Guide to Mary

"In this valuable work Dr. Bosetti lays the scriptural groundwork for a challenging task facing the Church.  Using keen scriptural scholarship deftly transposed into pastoral prayer, she opens to us the significance of the women in scripture.  She helps us begin the task of clarifying the distinct role of the feminine, in its own right, in salvation."

—Carla Mae Streeter, OP, Professor, Aquinas Institute of Theology, St. Louis, Missouri
