Fr. Myles N. Sheehan, SJ

Fr. Myles N. Sheehan, SJ, MD was named Provincial of the New England Province of Jesuits on July 31, 2009. Fr. Sheehan joined the New England Province of Jesuits on August 25, 1985, made his novitiate at St. Andrew House in Boston, MA, and was ordained to the priesthood on June 18, 1994. On April 22, 2005, he professed solemn vows in the Society of Jesus. Prior to becoming Provincial, Dr. Sheehan's work at Loyola University included administrative, teaching, and curricular development work in his role as Senior Associate Dean and Director of the Ralph P. Leischner, Jr., MD Institute for Medical Education. He had a practice in geriatric medicine along with his work in end of life care and improving palliative care, especially in Catholic healthcare. Fr. Sheehan was named one of Chicago's Top Doctors yearly from 2002-2010.

Sherry Weaver Smith

Sherry Weaver Smith became Catholic after working alongside Salesian Sisters who were dedicated to helping homeless and working children in Manila, the Philippines. Married to Michael, Sherry wrote her first poems and children's fiction for her daughter, Laura. Her haiku collection, Land Shapes, has been published by Richer Resources Publications. Sherry has also worked in various product management and grant-writing positions for healthcare companies and nonprofit organizations. She received her bachelor’s degree from Duke University in math and East Asian studies, and a master’s in politics from the University of Oxford, England. The Wolf and the Shield is Sherry’s first adventure with Pauline Kids.

Richard Spinello
Dr. Richard Spinello is an associate research professor at Boston College where he teaches ethics courses and conducts an annual seminar on the thought of Saint John Paul II. He is also a member of the adjunct faculty at St. John’s Seminary in Boston. He received his Ph.D in philosophy from Fordham University. Dr. Spinello's interest in Pope John Paul II began with the reading of the 1993 encyclical Veritatis Splendor (The Splendor of Truth). This document inspired him to explore the earlier writings of Karol Wojtyla, including Love and Responsibility. Dr. Spinello is the author of The Genius of John Paul II: The Great Pope’s Moral Wisdom, and The Encyclicals of John Paul II: An Introduction and Commentary, along with numerous other books and articles on ethical theory and applied ethics.

Chris Stepien

Chris Stepien is a six-time Emmy-award winning TV producer/director and a veteran of three decades of story telling that includes children's TV specials, news-making documentaries, as well as celebrity and sports features. Along with Father Joseph Marquis, Chris co-wrote the script for Pauline Books & Media’s DVD: Saint to Santa: How St. Nicholas Became Santa Claus. Dianne Traflet
Dianne Marie Traflet, J.D., S.T.D., is Associate Dean and Assistant Professor of Pastoral Theology at Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology (ICSST) at Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ. The founder and co-director of the Seminary’s Institute for Christian Spirituality, Dr. Traflet received her BA from Montclair State University and her JD from Seton Hall University School of Law. She practiced law for four years while earning her MA in Catholic Theology and Pastoral Ministry from the Institute for Advanced Studies of Catholic Doctrine at St. John's University in New York. She then studied at St. Thomas Aquinas University (the Angelicum), Rome, where she earned a licentiate and a doctorate in Sacred Theology, focusing on the life and work of St. Edith Stein.  Dr. Traflet has given numerous presentations, retreats, and days of recollection here in the United States, as well as England, Ireland, Canada and Italy, emphasizing the spirituality of Edith Stein, as well as related topics in spiritual theology.

Since 1976, Marianne Lorraine Trouvé, FSP, has been a member of the Daughters of St. Paul, an international congregation of women religious. She has an M.A. in theology from the University of Dayton. Dr. Gerard M. Verschuuren

Dr. Gerard M. Verschuuren is a human geneticist who also received a doctorate in the philosophy of science. He studied and worked at universities in Europe and the United States. Recently, he has been teaching scientists how to use computer programs for data analysis and data storage. He has written numerous books, articles, and biology textbooks in Dutch, and he is also the author of Investigating the Life Sciences (1986, Pergamon Press, Oxford, UK), and Life Scientists – Their Convictions, Their Activities, and Their Values (1995, Genesis Publishing Company, North Andover, MA), plus From VBA to VSTO as well as Excel for Scientists (2007, Holy Macro! Books, Uniontown, OH). Since he is a former Jesuit and a practicing Catholic, he felt the calling to write about his old passion, the relationship between science and religion, evolution and creation—seen from a Catholic viewpoint.

Jaymie Stuart Wolfe

A wife and mother of eight, Jaymie Stuart Wolfe is a senior editor at Ave Maria Press. Her biweekly column has appeared in Boston’s archdiocesan newspaper, The Pilot, since 1995. Since her conversion to the Catholic faith in 1983, Jaymie has directed parish adult faith formation, children’s sacramental preparation, and liturgical music ministry.
