2:30 Apostolate Spotlight: Video

Welcome to our Pauline Center for Media Studies.

This is a ministry that focuses on the development and encouragement of media literacy/media mindfulness for parents, teachers, and others who are actively involved in faith formation. Sr. Rose, the director, will offer you a quick tour of the Center’s work. In-depth study of the media as related to faith helps many to discover and deepen their love for God and all people. Like all of our other apostolic initiatives, our Pauline Media Center needs your support and generosity. Help us form good leaders, so more people will appreciate the values in our media culture while deepening their awareness of challenges that call for a faith-filled response.

We count on your generosity and hope that today you will find time to reach out with a gift to support the many-faceted mission that expresses our one life project—to proclaim and give Jesus Christ to all peoples.

As I have been inspired by the way faith can be developed through media studies, so too I feel called to inspire others to develop a more vital relationship with Jesus Christ through media literacy/media mindfulness. I will make this possible by donating now.

Media Mindfullness is such a needed ministry. At times we tend to simply drink in all that we view, read, or listen to. Sr. Rose offers a certificate media course that attracts many students and adult learners. Here are some testimonies from those who have participated in the program.

“This media literacy certificate program is a must for anyone who works in church ministry. It challenged me to integrate media into my faith formation and find ways to show others that media is a good tool when used wisely.”             –M., Dallas, TX

In gratitude for the gift of the media in today’s world and praying that these instruments can be used for my growth in faith, I would like to make a donation today.

“This class has ignited my interest with very thought-provoking issues and questions. Hopefully, this will spur me on to find out more and learn more, as well as to use and create more media with eyes of faith and a heart full of Jesus.”    –T. K., Singapore

“This course beautifully brings together the teachings of the church on media and contemporary media literacy concepts. Being mindful of the media is something we are all called to in our media culture. This institute really widened my perspective on faith and media.”  –Sr. H., Los Angeles, CA

Media should not conflict with faith but serve as means for deepening faith and widening hearts. I would like to donate now to the mission of the Daughters of St. Paul, so their dedicated study and use of the instruments of communication may flourish and grow.

“This is a course you can’t afford to miss!  Media needs to be embedded in our evangelization.  Even “Pope 2 You” shows that the Vatican recognizes the importance of communication, especially when it comes to our digital world.  Teachers know the merits of a lesson plan that instructs through multiple intelligences.  This course unlocks the tools that are embedded in media-rich lesson plans, tools that you can use immediately.” –Deacon B., Fremont, CA

“Media Literacy is a means to touch all God’s people no matter what their age or ethnic background. We are all touched by media everyday and every moment. I now have an understanding of how to utilize media to enhance awareness and foster spiritual growth among the people I serve in my ministry.”   –T.P., DRE, Culver City, CA

Mindful of the great need to grow in my understanding of the media culture, I want to donate to the sisters so that this great ministry may grow and touch the lives of many people.
