Sr Kathryn James was born in Bermuda and raised in Kentucky and Virginia. Even as a child, she desired to be a religious sister. Attracted both by the deep Eucharistic spirituality of the Daughters of St. Paul and the fire that ignites their missionary spirit, she entered the community in 1978, making her final profession in 1989.
“To communicate is more essential to me than breathing.” Sr. Kathryn’s love for prayer, reading, writing, speaking, online formation and spiritual accompaniment has led her to love the many different ministries to which she has been assigned through the years. She has an MTS from Weston Jesuit School of Theology, and an advanced certificate in Scripture Studies. Through the years she has enjoyed being a student of literature, philosophy, spirituality, Scripture, and theology. Her books include Surviving Depression—A Catholic Approach and Reclaim Regret: How God Heal’s Life’s Disappointments.
Sr. Kathryn James currently helps to shape the message of God’s love to the contours of the human heart through her work as an editor at Pauline Books and Media and as the Digital Editor of their website. She also manages the Heart of the Revival Newsletter for the national Eucharistic Congress Team. Finally, she finds life and joy in sharing her love for Jesus and his healing grace in the HeartWork program and at touchingthesunrise.com.
