As Daughters of St. Paul, our mission is to evangelize in the culture of communications. Here in Los Angeles, our Pauline Books & Media Center on Sepulveda Boulevard is our home base for inviting God’s people into an encounter with his Word, whether in our book center or on the road through our evangelization and outreach team. Our Los Angeles location is also home to Pauline Media Studies, a hub for learning media literacy skills to illuminate the presence of God in contemporary culture.

Since 1987, our Pauline Books & Media Center has been a trusted source in the Los Angeles area for Catholic books, movies, and sacramental gifts. From Scripture to spirituality, from theology to the lives of the saints, we aim to meet each person where they are, offering our patrons personalized recommendations—and above all, a listening ear.
What distinguishes us from traditional bookstores is the beating heart of our ministry: the presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament in our chapel, open to the public for prayer during book center hours.
We serve our local faith community through a rotating schedule of programming for adults and kids alike, including retreats, talks, book signings, and our signature annual holiday events: the Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebration and the Baby Jesus Party. Learn more about our upcoming offerings from our calendar below, and sign up for our mailing list to be notified about future events.
Just like our patron Saint Paul, our sisters are always on the road bringing the Good News to God’s people. We host book fairs at parishes and schools around the region, in addition to providing book displays at diocesan and catechetical conferences. Our sisters also give presentations and talks, guide retreats, and lead parish missions.
To inquire about having a book display and/or inviting a sister to speak at your parish, school, or conference, contact our evangelization and outreach team.
At this time, we are able to travel as far north as Sacramento, CA and Reno, NV; as far east as Arizona; as far south as San Diego; and we cover the west coast of California.
Pauline Media Studies is a mission project of the Daughters of St. Paul focused on developing and encouraging “media mindfulness,” engaging with contemporary culture in the light of the Gospel. Both locally and nationally, Pauline Media Studies offers film retreats and presentations on a variety of topics related to faith formation in a digital age.
Our sisters regularly host opportunities for vocational discernment, providing a space for young women to learn more about religious life and pray about where God is calling them. To become aware of opportunities near you or to speak with a sister about vocational discernment, get in touch with us. Know that we are praying for you!
Are you a lay person who is feeling called to share in the mission of proclaiming God’s Word through the media? We invite you to learn more about the Association of Pauline Cooperators. Contact us for information about how you can get involved.
“If you are visiting Los Angeles or just on your way on Sepulveda, you must stop into this little oasis in Culver City. There is great shopping but also places to sit (do you remember sitting while visiting?) and a moment in their peaceful Chapel can easily last 2 hours. Talk to the Sisters, they are just lovely!”

“I am a teacher at a Catholic school and I just adore this store. They have all of your Catholic gift needs, items for your classroom … [The chapel] is the perfect quiet sanctuary for prayer and silent contemplation, meditation, and solace. The Pauline sisters that run this store are also very friendly.”

“The sisters are most welcoming and helpful. Visit the chapel, take time for a visit with our heavenly Father. You will leave the center feeling blessed in many ways.”

“Operated by Catholic nuns, and they are the sweetest and kindest sisters that you could ever hope to meet. There is also a nice little chapel that anyone can visit while you are there. It’s very peaceful and you can visit the Lord, pray and meditate in his presence. Catholic or not, all are welcome and they have something for everyone to enjoy.”
