As Daughters of St. Paul, our mission is to communicate Christ in today’s world. Here in Canada, our Pauline Books & Media Center in Toronto is our home base for inviting God’s people into an encounter with his Word, whether at our book centre, on the road through our evangelization and outreach team, or online through our digital ministries. Since 1956, our Pauline Books & Media centres have been trusted sources for Catholic books and gifts in Canada. If you are looking for a word of encouragement, ways to pass the faith on to your children, resources for pastoral ministry, or spiritual reading to deepen your faith or help you explore moral issues, you’ll want to make Pauline Books & Media one of your favorite places to go.
What distinguishes us from traditional bookstores is the beating heart of our ministry: the presence of the Blessed Sacrament in our chapel, open to the public for prayer during book centre hours.
We serve our local faith community through a rotating schedule of programming for all ages, including prayer events, vocational opportunities, retreats, talks, book signings, and our signature annual children’s event: the Baby Jesus Party.
Just like our patron saint, Saint Paul, we are always on the road bringing the Good News to God’s people. We host book fairs at parishes, schools, and conferences across Canada. Our sisters also give presentations and talks, guide retreats, and lead parish missions on a wide variety of topics including spirituality, theology of the body, vocational discernment, faith, and more.
To inquire about having a book display and/or inviting a sister to speak at your parish, school, or conference, contact our evangelization and outreach team.
The founder of the Daughters of St. Paul, Blessed James Alberione, always encouraged us to use the “fastest and most effective means” to bring the Gospel to the people of today. In our Canada-based digital outreach, we aim to facilitate encounters with Christ that sanctify our online interactions while also renewing our in-person relationships. Toronto serves as the Canadian distribution centre for the publications of the Daughters of St. Paul and other Catholic publishers. We stock Catholic publications in five languages sourced worldwide, in order to best serve the needs of the diverse Church in Canada today.

Our sisters regularly host opportunities for vocational discernment, providing a space for young women to find out more about religious life and pray about where God is calling them. To find out about opportunities near you or to speak with a sister about vocational discernment, get in touch with us. Know that we are praying for you!
Are you a lay person who is feeling called to share in the mission of proclaiming God’s Word through the media? We invite you to learn more about the Association of Pauline Cooperators. Contact us to learn more about how you can get involved.
Our book centre and Eucharistic Chapel is one way we announce the truth, hope, and beauty of Christ to the men and women who walk through our doors. By giving toward our building renovation, you will help create a sacred space in Toronto where people can meet Jesus Christ, grow in faith, and find quality Catholic media to help them share this faith with others.
We cannot do this without you. You are truly our partners in the new evangelization, and we hold you in our grateful prayers!
