Eucharistic Morning Offering for the Media

adapted from a prayer by Blessed James Alberione

Father, in union with all the priests who today celebrate the Holy Mass, I offer you Jesus-Host and myself with Him:

  • to make amends for the error and evil spread throughout the world through the misuse of the media;
  • to implore your mercy for those who allow themselves to be led astray by indiscriminate and undiscerning use of media;
  • for the conversion of those who reject your Son and truth itself, and who use the media in a manipulative way or with malice that poisons the minds of hearts of people;
  • that everyone may hear and follow him alone whom you, Father, in your boundless love, gave the world, saying, “This is my beloved Son; listen to him!”;
  • that their use of media may help people to recognize and make Jesus known as the perfect Teacher, the secure Way who leads to knowledge of you, Father, and to a sharing in your own life;
  • that in the Church there may be in increase in media apostles who will make the message of salvation resound in every culture;
  • that writers, artists, media technicians, and promoters may be truly wise, imbued with the spirit of the Beatitudes, and witness to a life of holiness in the field of communications;
  • that Catholic media initiatives may continually increase in number and quality, so that the effective communication of human and Gospel values may counteract the voice of error and evil;
  • that all Catholics may recognize the need to be nourished with your Word, Father, and with the Body of Christ, invoking light, love, and mercy for all people.

Amen.
